Our foundation: passion and pioneering spirit

Our history as 35x GmbH is rooted in a personal enthusiasm for technology. Back in 1983, at the age of 9, our founder Thomas Ristic laid the foundations for a lifelong passion with his first attempts at programming on a TI-99/4A. This early exposure to the world of programming laid the foundation for a career characterized by constant learning and adaptation. From the first steps with programming languages such as TI-Basic and Commodore Basic to mastery of a wide range of operating systems, including MS-DOS, various versions of Windows, Macintosh OS, various Linux distributions and Unix systems, our foundation is based on a broad and deep understanding of the IT ecosystem.

However, this passion was not limited to personal development. As early as 1986, with his attempt to develop a merchandise management system on his home computer for his father's company, an early entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to use technology to solve practical problems became apparent. This was followed in the late 80s and early 90s by his immersion in the burgeoning online world, from his first modem experiments to exploring mailboxes and BTX - an expression of his tireless desire to push the boundaries of what was possible.

The founding of 35x GmbH in 2007 was the logical consequence of this development. The name alone is proof of the company's inventiveness and ability to recognize and exploit opportunities. When DENIC liberalized its allocation guidelines for .de domains, our founder used a specially developed script to secure valuable three-digit domains, including "35x.de". This proactive approach to recognizing and exploiting opportunities still characterizes our corporate spirit today.

An important milestone in the history of 35x GmbH was the year 2009, when a customer needed a flexible and cost-effective "on-demand" solution for massive load tests. We recognized the potential of AWS and developed a customized orchestration to create several hundred AWS instances for a few hours, perform the load test, collect and process the results and then dismantle the instances. This project was a key moment that paved our way into cloud technology.
